Sarah buys own club

GIRLS ALOUD hellraiser SARAH HARDING is launching her own nightclub. I kid you not.
I can't make up my mind if it's a masterstroke or a disaster waiting to happen. One thing's for sure, she knows about a good night out.
Sarah and DJ fella TOM CRANE have teamed up with NICK HOUSE and PIERS ADAM, owners of clubs Mahiki and Whisky Mist, to open Kanaloa in London's City area.
I suspect you'll be hearing an awful lot about it when it opens in November.
I just hope Piers and Nick are braced for the bar tab Sarah will rattle up...

Fans Will Cry At Tennant's Goodbye

The Scottish actor's four-year run as the popular timelord comes to an end this Christmas, despite objections from the show's hardcore supporters.
Speaking at the launch of the next episode, David joked: "I actually want to stay for another 15 years, Matt Smith's actually in Cardiff pretending.
"No that's not true. We finished filming back in April and I get to see the final episodes tomorrow, it may be emotional."
The series' writer Russell T Davies is also calling it a day after his four-year run.
He has promised fans that the Doctor will go out with a bang.
"This is fabulous," he said. "But be prepared to weep. It is sad - but good sad."
Davies also let slip that some big names will be reunited with the Doctor before the end of the year.
John Simm, Catherine Tate and Bernard Cribbins are all involved in the final storylines.
With the last three episodes already filmed, both Tennant and Davies are looking to the future.
December will be a good month for Tennant fans, with him appearing on our screens in a TV adaptation of Hamlet.
He can also be seen performing in Stephen Poliakoff's new film Glorious 39, which is out at the end of November, but is refusing to respond to speculation he is teaming up with Simon Pegg for a film in the future.
David also makes an appearance in the next St Trinian's film starring Gemma Arterton and Sarah Harding.
He told Sky News he had some doubts about getting involved.
"I thought is this going to be tough, is there going to be lots of screaming and running around?" he explained.
"But they are all good mates; they were a lovely set of girls to hang out with."

Davies has recently moved to LA in an attempt to break into American TV.
He says he will always be a proud Brit at heart, but is loving a bit of Hollywood celebrity spotting.
"I did stand in a café the other day next to Tim Robbins and he ordered two lattes. I loved it, my eyes were boggling," he recounted.
The next episode of Dr Who, titled The Waters of Mars, is expected to air in November before a two-part finale over the Christmas period.

Girls Aloud record cover for HMV album

Girls Aloud, Sugababes and The Saturdays have all contributed cover versions for a compilation album released by music retailer HMV.
The My Inspiration record, in which artists name the lyric that inspired them in their careers, will be made available from October 26.
Girls Aloud recorded their own version of James Morrisson's 'Broken Strings', which they performed on their 'Out Of Control' tour, and The Saturdays have included their recent cover of 'Beggin'.
Meanwhile, Sugababes contributed a take on Stevie Wonder's 'For Once In My Life' - recorded prior to the departure of founding member Keisha Buchanan.
James Morrison recorded Michael Jackson's 'Man In The Mirror' for the disc and Frankmusik covered Amy Winehouse's 'Rehab'.
Further acts involved include Gary Go, VV Brown, Amy MacDonald, Stereophonics, The Maccabees, The Noisettes and Florence And The Machine.

WHY DID ASH HAVE TO DASH?

CHERYL’S husband Ashley did a runner from X Factor after her show-stopping performance, leaving her to celebrate on her own.
The England and Chelsea star vanished from the backstage party to toast her success. His disappearing act comes just a fortnight after Cheryl appeared to have a dig at her “play-away” hubby.
She said: “I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t trust anybody except my mother and my dogs.”
A show insider said: “When Ashley left it certainly raised a few eyebrows.
“You would think a husband would stay to celebrate with his missus.”
The former Arsenal defender, 28, was one of the VIP guests at The X Factor.
He and Girls Aloud members Sarah Harding, 27, Nicola Roberts, 24, and Kimberley Walsh, 27, came out in force to support Cheryl, who was nervous about sharing the bill with diva Whitney Houston, 46, and singing in front of fellow judges Simon Cowell, 50, and Dannii Minogue, 38.
But once the main X Factor show ended at 9pm, Ashley slipped off.
Audience members say he was smuggled out of the studios. It meant Cheryl was left to celebrate her amazing stage success without the support of her husband.
The singer stayed to do an interview at the start of ITV2’s Xtra Factor hosted by Holly Willoughby, 28. Then she went backstage to begin her celebrations.
Cheryl nipped back to the Xtra Factor studio to be interviewed with her evicted protege Rikki Loney, 21, until 10pm.
Then Cheryl joined her Girls Aloud pals for drinks before being snapped leaving the studios alone at 10.40pm.
Only last year, the couple hit the headlines over rumours that Ashley had a fling with a hairdresser.
A backstage X Factor worker said: “Ashley was eager to be in the audience and of course the cameras zoomed in on him sitting in the crowd smiling.
“But after that he did a disappearing act.
“He didn’t hang around.
“Thank God Sarah, Kimberly and Nicola were there otherwise she would have been celebrating on her own.
“It’s a bit odd Ashley didn’t stay till the end.”
X Factor and Cheryl’s spokesmen declined to comment.
An insider said: “Ashley wanted to be there in the audience to cheer Cheryl on.
“But Cheryl had to stay for the filming on ITV2 and so he left early because he had training the next day.”

Girls Aloud so proud of Cheryl

THE Girls Aloud members showed just how proud they were of Cheryl Cole last night after she performed her debut solo single on The X Factor.
The Geordie judge, 26, received hugs and kisses from bandmates Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh, who were watching from the audience as she belted out Fight For This Love.

Only Nadine Coyle, who lives in LA, was missing from the crowd.
A relieved Cheryl was spotted chatting and giggling with her pals as she left the studios in London.
Her smiles came despite the fact that one of her acts, Rikki Loney, was given the boot from the show.
After performing in a sing-off with Rachel Adedeji, Simon Cowell - who had the casting vote - decided it was his time to leave the contest.
The music mogul blamed Rikki's and Lloyd Daniels' poor performances on their mentor Cheryl during Saturday's show.
After Lloyd's dismal version of Leona Lewis's Bleeding Love, Simon told him he'd been let down by Cheryl for picking the wrong song and not focusing on her acts enough this week - reducing her to tears.

Girls Aloud so proud of Cheryl Cole's X Factor routine

Cheryl Cole was congratulated by her Girls Aloud bandmates after wowing the X Factor crowd with her solo debut.

You nailed it, pet: a beaming Cheryl Cole leaves the X Factor studios in London after performing her new solo song on the show. The Girls Aloud star appeared to sing the first verse and mime the rest
Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh were in the audience of the show along with Cheryl's footballer husband Ashley Cole.

Give me five: Cheryl Cole is greeted by Sarah Harding after her performance on last night's X Factor
The four cheered the 26-year-old as she performed Fight For This Love wearing a military-style jacket, sheer body suit and trousers split to the hip.

Despite an agreement with producers that she would mime, Cole bravely opted to sing the first verse of the song live before reverting to a pre-recording.
One audience member said: “Her vocals sounded shaky during the first part and then miraculously it came together.
Cheryl replied: “I feel fantastic. It took me right back to the days of Pop Stars: The Rivals.”
Cheryl, now an X Factor judge, met her Girls Aloud group in the television competition in 2002.
Whitney Houston, who performed after Cole, had a less triumphant evening when the strap on her dress broke as she sang new single Million Dollar Bill. The Grammy winner subsequently appeared flustered during an interview with host Dermot O'Leary.

Girl’s alive as Cheryl wows ’em

CHERYL Cole got up and wowed the X Factor crowd last night as she sang her new solo single LIVE after all.
The sexy show judge wiggled in a racy, sheer body suit and trousers split to the hip.

But her nerves showed with a shaky performance as she belted out Fight For This Love.
Show bosses had revealed the 26-year-old Girls Aloud star would pre-record the track. But executives did a U-turn and she sang live - with possible help from some pre-recorded vocals.
Hubby Ashley Cole was in the audience for support with bandmates Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh.

As Dannii applauded, Simon Cowell told Cheryl: "It is really going to pain me to say this, but that was incredible."
MySun readers were less kind. InTenerife said: "She can't sing. Simon's comments were a joke!"
Jolietjake said: "Good performance by her low standards."
But Teresa1464 said: "She was brill! Well done Cheryl."
And Angelfireuk34 declared: "Cheryl! Amazing."

Sarah Harding's new 'do

Sarah Harding's hair is usually as wild as her hell-raising lifestyle, but the Girl's Aloud singer is now sporting a chic short bob.

Sarah Harding has swapped her cropped, sometimes curly sometimes spiky hair for an altogether more grown-up style. Her new hairdo is a calmer, sleeker version of her usual unruly crop.

Pictured at a wedding, Sarah kept her sunnies on perhaps from partying at bandmate Nicola's birthday the night before?

Why Cheryl won't sing live

As you know, we at Grazia are fully paid up members of Team X Factor, supporting the show through its ups and downs. However, certain crimes can not be overlooked and we’re outraged at the revelation that Cheryl Cole, who’s due to perform her new single, Fight For This Love, on this Saturday’s show, will NOT be singing live (unlike the contestants she’s mentoring).

'Cheryl will be recording her music performance earlier in the day with a live studio audience to ensure she can fully continue with her judging commitments on The X Factor later that evening,' said an ITV representative.

However, this statement doesn’t hold much water, as last year, when Girls Aloud performed as a group they all sung live – Chezza simply hopped on stage for the duration of the song, then rejoined Simon and Co on the top table afterwards. Could Cheryl’s decision have anything to do with the fact her band were panned for last year’s effort? In matching gold outfits they certainly looked stunning (like five well-coiffed Oscar statues) but their looks still couldn’t distract from the fact, Sarah Harding was the only one singing in tune.

So, is new soloist Cheryl having a crisis of confidence?
'I'm absolutely terrified,' she said, on Chris Moyles' Radio 1 show yesterday, 'The nerves started weeks ago. I love performing but I've sat for months judging people and now I'm putting myself out there to be judged. It's a weird feeling.’

The news that ex-protégé Alexandra Burke is doing so well surely hasn’t helped (her debut single, Bad Boys, is outselling Robbie Williams two to one in the midweek charts). However, lets not praise Alexandra too prematurely, as when she appeared on last Saturday’s X Factor she appeared to be miming (umm, isn’t the point of X Factor to find raw talent, who can hold a note? You wouldn’t catch Leona lip-syncing.)

Simon Cowell, raise the bar! Stop letting the professional get off so lightly (remember Britney’s bizarre rendition of Womanizer last series?) Though rumours have circulated about Robbie William’s starry-eyed performance at least he had the guts to go au naturel. What sort of example is Cheryl setting?Phew, we feel better for getting that of our chest. Grazia readers, feel free to vent…

Sarah Harding and Yasmin Le Bon glam up for wedding

Sarah Harding makes one dress work for both a wedding and a birthday bash

Girl's Aloud's Sarah Harding headed up the celebrity attendees this weekend for the wedding of Charles Dunstone, the co-founder of Carphone Warehouse, to PR executive Celia Gordon Shute.

Sarah Harding, who attended with her fiancé DJ Tom Crane, looked gorgeous in a long blue dress, with bejewelled neckline. Sarah teamed her dress with a mix of silver and gold accessories including silver peep toe wedges, a silver clutch and chunky gold bangles.

Other guests at the star-studded event included Piers Morgan, Tony and Cherie Blair, Lord Mandelson and Simon and Yasmin Le Bon. Yasmin stunned in an elegant floor length berry coloured dress worn with a fur shrug. The glamorous dress is part of Yasmin's collection for Wallis and is available now for £120.

Sir Stuart Rose was also in attendance, playing the part of usher. The executive chairman of Marks & Spencer wore his morning suit with a twist. Over the top of his jacket he wore a high visibility vest with ‘Stu' scribbled across the back in felt tip pen.

After the ceremony at Christ Church in Spitalfields the guests headed to the reception in the Inner Temple Garden on Embankment. After the wedding breakfast, which saw the guests seated at tables named after films such as Sex and the City, Some like it Hot and Top Gun, the guests were treated to a performance from musician Jools Holland.

After the ceremony Sarah headed to Soho nightclub Club 24. Here she attended the birthday party for Una Healy from girl band The Saturdays, who supported Girls Aloud on their tour Tangled Up Tour.

Kim: Sarah's too wild for me

GIRLS ALOUD star KIMBERLEY WALSH says she doesn't get invited out by bandmate SARAH HARDING because she 'can't keep up'.

Sarah is an annual contender for my Caner Of The Year Award, enjoying yet another heavy night out with THE SATURDAYS at the weekend.

But Kim says she would rather stay at home with a take-away.

She says: "Sarah's too wild for me - and she knows I can't keep up. She only invites on the occasional night out.

"CHERYL and I will stay in for a takeaway and a gossip. It sounds boring, but it's nice to chill when you're always so busy."

Kim has recently signed up as the new face of New Look while the band pursue solo projects.
But she says the band have wowed to stay together until they are OAPS.

She told Company magazine: "This is more of a gap year. I don't think we'll ever split up. We've had conversations and agreed that, even if we stopped making music in five year's time, we'll never officially break up.

"A lot of groups split because they're having a bad time or not getting along, then they make a big comeback.
"We don't need to make a profound statement and, hopefully, the five of us with stay on the same page for the next 50 years."

And curvy Kim says she is enjoying her new modelling contract.

She added: "I've got a love/hate relationship with my bottom.

"I feel like I'm constantly prising myself into clothes."

Looks great to me.

Another wild Saturday night, Sarah?

SARAH HARDING has saved GIRLS ALOUD.

In the beginning charisma was in short supply in the girl band.

But then Sarah discovered Camden, turned into a caner and interest levels rocketed.
Here's the veteran thrasher out on the pop with fellow girl band THE SATURDAYS on, erm, Saturday night.

The bash was for flame-haired Saturday UNA HEALY's birthday at London club 24.
Una was celebrating her 28th at the swanky West End club with the rest of her bandmates including FRANKIE SANDFORD.

I hope the girls took note - Sarah is a master of her craft.

Stars out in force for Carphone Warehouse mogul wedding

You might not know the names Celia Gordon Shute and Charles Dunstone, but you'll certainly recognise the array of famous faces in attendance at their weekend wedding.

Dunstone, the co-founder of Carphone Warehouse, wed public relations consultant Celia Gordon Shute at Christ Church in East London's Spitalfields on Saturday.

With a star-studded guest-list, Sarah Harding led the pack alongside beau Tom Crane, and faced the chill in a bejewelled turquoise gown, that left her shoulders bare.

Dressed more in keeping with the weather, Yasmin Le Bon wowed in a floor-skimming berry red gown, with fur bolero shrug. In a spot of self-promotion, the show stopping dress came from her self-designed collection for Wallis - which retails for £120.

Other familiar face sin the congregation included Piers Morgan, Tony and Cherie Blair, Kirsty Young and Stuart Rose.

Nicola Roberts and Sarah Harding hit the town

Nicola Roberts celebrated her birthday in true fashionista style, the Girls Aloud star wore a risque sheer dress which showed off her figure.

Nicola Roberts gave Cheryl Cole a run for her money in a sheer, black dress which featured devore velvet paintstrokes. Cole sported a revealing Alexander McQueen dress for her birthday

celebrations but this weekend she was busy filming X Factor.

Fellow bandmate Sarah Harding turned up, looking chic and grown-up in a new hairstyle and a muted outfit.

The usually demure Nicola seems to be a fan of the sheer trend, she wore a daring sheer jumpsuit at the ’30 Days of Fashion and Beauty’ gala party at the Natural History Museum recently

Girls Aloud's Sarah Harding goes from wedding to birthday bash til 3.30am wearing the SAME dress

For most celebrities, attending a wedding then a birthday party would mean at least two outfit changes.
However, Sarah Harding has proved if you find the right frock, it will do for any occasion - even if it lasts all day and all night.

The Girls Aloud singer arrived at the wedding of mobile phone tycoon Charles Dunstone and Celia Gordon Shute in East London yesterday afternoon wearing a long and elegant blue dress.
After the couple tied the knot, renowned party girl Sarah, 27, and her fiancé DJ Tom Crane headed over to Soho’s Club 24 for a 28th birthday party.

They emerged from the venue at 3.30am – with Sarah still wearing the same bejewelled frock.
The celebrations were for Una Healy from girlband The Saturdays. The group supported Girls Aloud on their Tangled Up Tour before the release of their first single, If This Is Love in 2008.
Band members Mollie King, Vanessa White, Rochelle Wiseman and Frankie Sandford were also at the event which went on until the early hours of the morning.

Nicola Roberts enjoys her birthday party with mystery man and Sarah Harding - the only band member who shows up

In the seven years she's been in Girls Aloud, it is fair to say Nicola Roberts has become more sartorially daring - and her 24th birthday party was the perfect place to show off her love of risque fashion.
Dressed in a partially sheer black dress, the pop star teamed her unusual choice of ensemble with gold sandals, shoulder-bag and a mystery ginger-haired man.
And while unknown gentleman appeared to be staying close to the singer, her fellow bandmates - bar one - were nowhere to be seen.

Ever the party girl, Sarah Harding attended the central London event at 50 St James and partied the night away before appearing to fall asleep in the cab on her way home.
And although hard-working Cheryl Cole was absent, presumably due to preparations for tonight's X-Factor, it is unknown why Kimberly Walsh and Nadine Coyle did not make an appearance.

However, this did not seem to dampen the Liverpudlian's spirits.
Wearing scarlet lipstick and her trademark amber, messy bob, the star looked happy at the end of the night clutching a flower which was presumably a gift from one of her attendees.
Smiling broadly , a weary-looking Roberts appeared to have had a birthday to remember. But who the mystery man on her arm was, remains to be revealed.

Jordan’s dumped... by maids

JORDAN has been dumped by three of her four bridesmaids over her treatment of Peter Andre, The Sun can reveal.
Best pal and pin-up Michelle Clack, 30, has not spoken to her for five months after she was told: "Choose Team Kate or Team Pete."

Michelle chose Peter and Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding, 27, has ignored all calls from Jordan. Even drug shame star Kerry Katona has crossed her off her Christmas card list.
Of the four at the 2005 wedding only former Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton, 30, has stood by Jordan, real name Katie Price.

A pal said: "The big heartbreak for Katie is the fall-out with Michelle Clack. They were best mates. Katie told her during the split, 'You're either friends with me or friends with Pete'.
"She thought Michelle would be on her side, but she told Katie where she could stick her ultimatum. Since then Michelle has seen Pete a lot and they remain good friends.
"Sarah and Kerry have no time for her either. Out of her four bridesmaids just Michelle Heaton is talking to her.

"It's making her very low and she is starting to see how her behaviour has left her isolated not just from the public, but her friends."
Last night Peter told The Sun: "Most of our friends took Kate's side when we first split, which is fair enough, because they were her friends first.
"Nick (Michelle's husband) and Michelle were the only ones who said they didn't want to take sides. But they're not friends with her now."
Jordan, 31, attended the Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham with cage fighter lover Alex Reid, 34, yesterday.
She had insisted they were still together despite a series of rows and her telling pals she wanted to dump him. A locksmith was seen at her home in Woldingham, Surrey.

Sarah Harding works punk chic as Pixie Geldof models Vivienne Westwood

The faux leather dress, the fierce red platform stilettos, the side-shaved hair do – Sarah Harding was the essence of punk as she attended Vivienne Westwood's London Fashion Week show. It was a look the designer – who was pivotal to the fashion side of the Seventies punk movement – would no doubt approved of. Girls Aloud beauty Sarah was just one of several stars at the British style maven's catwalk presentation. Joining the blonde beauty was her bandmate Nicola Roberts, dressed in an eye-catching scarlet gown. Also in the front row were former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and her handsome financier beau Henry Beckwith, MTV presenter Alexa Chung, and Lady Victoria Hervey. And fresh from attending New York Fashion Week, Peaches Geldof was there to support sister Pixie. Bob Geldof's 19-year-old daughter joined Daisy Lowe in helping model Vivienne's latest collection for her red label. The new line, which Vivienne revealed was designed to capture the timeless quality of summertime in England contained several Fifties-inspired dresses as well as sharply tailored jackets and wide leg pants.

Miranda Sawyer: Sounding Off

Cheryl Cole, an ickle-wickle television dolly who is, in her spare time, one-fifth of popular beat combo Girls Aloud, is about to launch her solo career. That's her solo singing career. On 19 October, she's bringing out Fight For This Love, which will see our pretty miss dressed in various tough-looking outfits ticking off/jollying up some random bloke who in no way resembles Ashley Cole, Cheryl's gallant husband. "Quitting's out of the question, when it gets tough gotta fight some more," sings Cheryl, as well as "Too much of anything can make you sick" which is brave, given Ashley's puking past. Remember, girls, it's a privilege. I was hoping she'd sing "United we stand", but that would just be taking it too far.
Anyway, in honour of Cheryl being allowed to sing an entire song by herself, I thought I'd chuck out a pub quiz question. Can you name 10 singers in the past 10 years who have been more successful as solo artists than when they were in a band? I'll give you Robbie Williams for free. Off you go… There's Beyoncé. Gwen Stefani. Damon Albarn, if you count Gorillaz as a solo project, which it isn't. Um. Perhaps we should extend the time limit: then we could bring in George Michael and, er, Rod Stewart. Paul Weller, arguably. Could we say John Lennon? We couldn't. Ah. Neil Young. Van Morrison. Peter Gabriel. Phil Collins. Excuse me while I keel over and die of depression at the state of pop, current and past.

It's hardly a wall of fabulousness, is it? The list of those who have failed at pop's coalface sans companions is much longer. The solo pattern is, usually, bring out first single, have massive success, then watch as the follow-ups shoot straight in at No 32, tour to emptying venues and slink back to your old band. If you haven't fallen out with them, that is. Cheryl is canny enough to remain on great terms with Dannii, Louis and Simon. And yes, that's a facetious joke, but, lest we forget, before Ashley's extramarital seduction techniques led to Cheryl getting the X Factor gig on the sympathy vote, the Girl Aloud considered most likely to have a solo career was Sarah Harding.
